Israel pays six-figure sum for @israel Twitter user name

TEL AVIV – The state of Israel is understood to have paid a six-figure sum to take control of the @israel Twitter account, formerly owned by Spaniard Israel Meléndez, allowing it to exert more control over its social media image.
