IPG Reports First Quarterly Operating Profit in a Decade as Net Loss Shrinks


Interpublic Group of Companies on Friday morning reported its first quarterly operating profit in over a decade.

The marketing services giant, whose portfolio includes agency groups McCann Worldgroup, FCB and IPG Mediabrands, said operating income increased to $7.8 million, compared to an $11.7 million operating loss during the first quarter in 2014, and reported an operating margin of 0.5%, compared to a loss of 0.7% during the first quarter in 2014.

The company stil showed a net loss of $1.8 million, although that’s an improvement on the first quarter of 2014, when it reported a net loss of $20.9 million.
