InChair TV Opens Doors for Commercials

At times, waiting or even going through the excruciating pain from tooth extractions or root canals at your dentist’s office may become a very forgettable experience. They say that the key is to place your mind somewhere else or keep yourself occupied with other things. That is one purpose why most dental offices now are equipped with this latest technology called InChair TV where they can watch films while they are having their dental works done.

It is indeed something innovative. Innovative in the sense that commercials are shown through program breaks prior to a movie’s showing. Advertising slots are being offered to oral health and other marketers at various CPM rates.

The price of a headset, portable DVD player and a yearlong media subscription is $499. Additional DVD content is available for $10 per quarter per disk. DVDs are returned every three months in a prepaid envelope, much like Netflix.
