Twitter, the free micro-blogging service that enables users to send text-based "tweets" 140 characters in length to their "followers," is one of the hottest social media companies on the planet. Despite a meteoric rise and the fact it's been around for nearly three years, we had honestly never heard of Twitter two months ago. It was not until Mark Cuban tipped us off that we actually created a Twitter account and sent our first tentative tweets.
