Here Comes 'Hunger Games' — the Play


The producer of “Hunger Games” is serving up a new way to experience the hit saga about teens fighting to the death in a totalitarian world: It’s coming to the London stage.

Lions Gate Entertainment and Dutch media company Imagine Nation are teaming up for the production and will raise the curtain on the live action drama in 2016, the companies said today. They’re using what they call immersive staging techniques in a purpose-built theater next to Wembley Stadium.

The first two films, which star Jennifer Lawrence, have taken in more than $1.5 billion in ticket sales worldwide for Lions Gate. Based on a series of novels by Suzanne Collins, the story follows Katniss Everdeen, a girl from an impoverished region who volunteers to take her younger sister’s place in the deadly game.
