It took less than an hour of working time for Nestle to agree to let Google name its new Android version after Kit Kat. “If I’m truthful, he had me at ‘hello,'” said Stewart Dryburgh, assistant VP-confectionery at Nestle.

Google has been giving sugary names to Android versions in alphabetical order, starting with Cupcake, which it followed up with Donut, Eclair, Froyo, Gingerbread, Honeycomb, Ice Cream Sandwich and, most recently, Jelly Bean. It had been considering naming the newest version “Key Lime Pie.”

But a Google employee had a different idea, as Mr. Dryburgh explained.
