Facing Tougher Competition, Grammy Awards Down 11% From Last Year


AMC’s ravenous ambulatory corpses appear to have taken a bite out of the Grammy Awards, as ratings for the annual gala were down from a year ago.

According to Nielsen live-plus-same-day data, CBS’s broadcast of “The 57th Annual Grammy Awards” averaged 25.3 million viewers, down 11% versus last year’s delivery of 28.5 million. The 219-minute spectacle also drew an 8.5 in the adults 18-49 demo, marking a 14% decline versus the year-ago 9.9 rating.

CBS also experienced a drop among the 25-54 set, averaging a 9.3 in the network’s target demo, down 12% from the 10.6 rating it notched during the 2014 broadcast.
