Brandicide
Posted in: UncategorizedThe New York Yankees are perhaps the most famous brand in American sports. They have an interesting dilemma this season as every televised home game has turned into a negative “ad.” Though they play to near capacity crowds, the Yankees miscalculated demand for the very best seats in the new Yankee Stadium, and many went unsold. This leads to empty seats near the field and unfortunate camera shots. If the Yankees were my client I would suggest they gradually invite people from the obstructed view seats near centerfield to sit in those vacant seats starting in the third inning. Anything to rid themselves of that three hour negative image ad.
