Audi Starts Digital Agency Review


Audi of America has begun a review of its digital agency business, according to people familiar with the matter.

The pitch is part of a routine process that the automaker, part of Volkswagen, initiates every few years, industry executives said. Audi last reviewed its digital business in the summer of 2010; it named AKQA its digital agency of record in early 2011, shifting its business to the large, then-independent shop from smaller Denver-based independent Factory Design Labs.

AKQA, now owned by WPP, is defending the business, according to people familiar with the matter.
