Television Delays Child Development
Posted in: UncategorizedBabies and kids are often seen as enjoying television and while many parents would want them to enjoy their youth, their educational development may be impaired. There are of course some restrictions as to the amount of television that they watch but this French study shows us how the intellectual levels of some babies exposed to television shows may become a means of hindering their potential development in an educational aspect.
French researchers found that watching television impacted on the development of children under three. Their study showed it delayed language learning, encouraged passivity, reduced concentration, increased agitation and caused sleep disorders.
Now on whether you would agree or not is entirely up to you and what you allow your child to watch. But seriously, there are educational television shows such as Sesame Street which can still do the job although they have been faltering a bit lately due to some program changes.
