Check Out the DGA's 2014 Nominees for Outstanding Ad Directors


Film directors of ads for Always, Guinness, Apple, Facbook and Nike have made the list of nominees for the Directors Guild of America’s 2014 honor for Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Commercials.

Nicolai Fuglsig of MJZ earned his second nomination, for his work on “Waiting” for FEMA out of Deutsch, New York and Guinness’ “Sapeurs” out of AMV BBDO, which followed a group of real-life dapper gents from the Republic of Congo. Mr. Fuglsig previously won the honor in 2007.

Photographer/director Lauren Greenfield of Chelsea Pictures earned recognition for her work on the much-talked-about film for Always, out of Leo Burnett, Chicago, that questioned the pejorative connotations of the phrase “Like a Girl.” Ms. Greenfield previously earned a DGA honor in the Documentary category in 2012 for her film “Queen of Versailles.”
