What a crazy weekend! Driven by the need to augment my AdFreak salary, I took part in a focus group for a major foreign carmaker. They hypnotized me to find out what I really wanted in a car! I told them I wanted to look like David Hasselhoff when he was on Knight Rider. I also requested a talking car as my sidekick, just like the Hoff had on the show. I asked for Heidi Klum as well, but in that case, I added that the car was optional. And what a coincidence: Today, Brandweek reports that Volkswagen’s new ads will star a talking 1964 Beetle and feature Klum and Hasselhoff. But wait: It’s Volvo, not VW, that’s using hypnosis. I guess they took it to heart when I said I’d drive “anything but a Volvo.”
