Stitch Fix launched its first brand campaign this February, tying into award season’s major fashion moments in order to talk to consumers about what Stitch Fix does, why it’s relevant, and how its service (personal styling) can help them feel that red carpet confidence every day of the year. The campaign launched with a Stitch Fix Red Carpet activation in LA and NYC—complete with handlers, agents and paparazzi—to give everyday people the ‘red carpet treatment.’ Then, just before the curtain rose at the Oscars, the company launched a :60 spot celebrating and elevating the reasons people get dressed for all of life’s moments, big and small.

Peugeot rides back into the U.S. after a nearly three-decade absence


Nearly three decades after exiting the U.S. market, PSA Group is coming back with the brand it pulled out: Peugeot.

The French auto conglomerate will reintroduce Peugeot vehicles as part of a 10-year plan to sell cars again in North America, CEO Carlos Tavares said in Paris on Tuesday. They will originally be sourced from Europe and China, Tavares said, without identifying any nameplates.

Larry Dominique, PSA’s North America chief, told Automotive News that Peugeot is the “best fit” for the North American market, based on consumer awareness of the brand and emerging demographics.

Nostalgia Reigns over Awards Season


The most underwhelming Super Bowl in recent memory was matched in mediocrity by this year’s lineup of Big Game ads, so hopes for the No. 2 TV event of the season, the Oscars, were very low, considering the Academy’s well-publicized difficulty and ultimate failure in finding a host. While the show itself was actually a success, Green Book’s Best Picture win had many searching for clues as to what could cause voters to select the throwback feel-good racial harmony film over more cutting-edge competition like Roma, BlacKkKlansman and even the blockbuster Black Panther.

Some critics took a harder line toward the Academy’s awarding Green Book its highest honor, but perhaps the key to the film’s victory was more mundane. As Vox’s Todd VanDerWerff pointed out, Green Book is “a comforting fantasy that safely situates a problem in the past.” In uncertain times, it’s not unusual that audiences would also see the appeal of the comfort nostalgia can add to a feature filmor a high-profile ad.

Among the biggest names advertising during the Oscars, Budweiser, Rolex, Samsung and Google played off the movie theme with some old-school hip-hop, punk and (why not) Doris Day thrown in for good measure:
