Microsoft's Super Bowl ad for Xbox stars children with disabilities

Microsoft is returning to the Super Bowl with an ad showing children with disabilities playing video games with the Xbox adaptive controller.

The 60-second spot, which will air in the fourth quarter, showecases children who don’t have full use over their hands and arms playing video games. The ad was created by McCann Worldgroup. The company released a 90-second version of the ad today.

“Our intent with our ads is to illustrate a product and a human truth and deliver on our mission of empowering every person and organization on the planet to achieve more,” Kathleen Hall, corporate VP, brand, advertising and research, Microsoft, said in a statement. “In this instance, the Xbox Adaptive Controller helps the children enhance their gaming experience and compete in new ways. What better message for a premiere sporting event?”

Watch Michael Bublé star in Bubly's Super Bowl commercial

PepsiCo today released its third and final Super Bowl ad, a spot for its Bubly sparkling water brand starring Canadian crooner Michael Bubl.

The 30-second spot by Goodby Silverstein & Partners is called “Can I have a bubl?” It shows comedian Aparna Nancherla and others convincing the singer that the drink is not named after him. The concept was teased in a video released Jan. 17. The ad features four new flavors: blackberrybubly, cranberrybubly, raspberrybubly and peachbubly.

PepsiCo previously released Super Bowl ads for Doritos and its flagship soda brand, which also feature celebrities.

Devour tones down the heat for its Super Bowl debut

Devour’s first Big Game ad includes plenty of innuendo, without making it completely awkward for Super Bowl party viewing.

The Kraft Heinz brand knew its story, focused on “frozen food porn,” would need to be toned down to air during the Big Game, which is why the suitable-for-the-Super-Bowl 30-second version omits the word “porn.” But other than that omission, the jokes are largely the same from the “uncut” 60-second version, which the marketer, of course, released early to build buzz.

“My boyfriend has an addiction,” the girlfriend in the commercial begins. (In the uncut version, the ad kicked off with: “My boyfriend is addicted to frozen food porn.”)
