Daily Mail Warns of 'Year of Transition' for Its Business
Posted in: UncategorizedShares in Daily Mail & General Trust slumped the most since 2001 after giving investors news they didn’t want to hear: 2018 will essentially be a lost year.
The publisher of the Daily Mail newspaper said fiscal 2018 will be a “year of transition,” warning of weakness across its businesses, a higher tax rate and a hit from asset sales. The stock fell as much as 29 percent Thursday, the most since the Sept. 11 attacks, when the company’s trade publishing business suffered losses from canceled New York events.
The plunge shows some investors are losing patience with the company’s delays in delivering a turnaround, a little over a year after CEO Paul Zwillenberg took over. Panmure Gordon & Co. berated the company for what it called “arguably the fifth transitional year in a row,” highlighting how one of Britain’s biggest media brands is struggling to reinvent itself from a tabloid publisher to a diversified global media group.
GM's Self-Driving Cars to Be Ready for Ride-Sharing in 2019
Posted in: UncategorizedGeneral Motors plans to have its self-driving cars ready for a ride-share service within two years as the automaker looks beyond traditional car ownership for new tech-driven sources of revenue.
After spending more than a year quietly putting the pieces in place to launch a robotaxi business, GM said Thursday it expects to be ready in 2019 to have a fleet of self-driving cars in operation. The sharing service could be run by the automaker or a partner.
The largest U.S. automaker’s plan for a self-driving car-sharing service comes at a time when auto sales in its home market are slowing after a record seven-year streak of gains. The potentially lucrative robotaxi market could offer a major new source of revenue and improved margins, especially since going driverless has the potential to dramatically reduce the labor costs involved with sharing or hailing services.
Macy’s Rolls Out Three More Holiday Ads With Charmingly Subtle Storytelling

Penis-Free Detroit Politician Touts Her Lack of Penis in Campaign Ad
Posted in: UncategorizedDana Nessel, a Detroit lawyer and Democratic candidate for Michigan attorney general, alludes to all the recent news about powerful men accused of sexual misconduct in a new campaign ad uploaded to her official YouTube channel. And then she asks a rather pointed question.
“If the last few weeks has taught us anything,” Nessel says, “it’s that we need more women in positions of power, not less. So when you’re choosing Michigan’s next attorney general, ask yourself this: Who can you trust most not to show you their penis in a professional setting? Is it the candidate who doesn’t have a penis? I’d say so.”
Curiously, Nessel doesn’t ever actually state that she herself doesn’t have a penis, though she does state “Yes, I’m a woman,” and at one point a headline is shown on screen”Civil rights attorney named Woman of the Year” (from Michigan Lawyers Weekly in 2015)which references her gender.

HerStories: Adventures of Supergirls
Posted in: Uncategorized
We started this project inspired by Goodnight Stories for Rebel Girls, Rad American Women A-Z and She Persisted. Our intention was to inspire children to believe in their dreams and to pursue them through hail, fire and adversity. In turn, we are inspired by it.
The stories we want to share are about REAL superpowers – passion, determination and spiritfire. We want to encourage children that are geographically, economically or socially alienated that power is not given, it is harnessed. We want to show alternatives to what it means to be a girl.
HerStories..our stories…are seeds. And we pray they blossom. and 1000 years of history of women empowerment.

From daily traffic situations and common drivers’ citations, we created an advertising campaign capable of drawing attention precisely by gathering arguments that allow an immediate and true identification of the entire population with reality.
In life, much of our conclusions are the fruit of our own questions. The questions lead us to think, awaken our conscience and illuminate the path of decisions. The questions give us accurate answers to our growth as a human being. The concept of the campaign created for DETRAN / RN starts from this premise. The idea is to lead us to think and reflect on what we say and do in traffic.
