McCafé: Pure Coffee Pleasure

Print
McCafé

Nowadays, it almost seems impossible to just enjoy simple, good coffee. The hipster movement has latched on and has made coffee an overcomplicated affair. McCafé is the proud antithesis to this development, focusing on what’s really important: simple and pure coffee pleasure.

DISH: Christmas Special

Film
DISH

“Christmas Special” leverages stop motion animation to bring the Spokeslistener, Snowman and woodland creatures to life in Claymation (think classic Christmas movie Rudolph Saves Christmas). Unlike live action commercial shoots that usually wrap in a day or two, capturing stop motion animation can take weeks or months of filming to complete, as it involves manipulating three-dimensional objects in minute increments, at 24 frames per second. To highlight what it took to produce this unique spot, we put together a “Behind the Scenes” video that includes commentary from agencies, HouseSpecial and Camp+King, and DISH’s CMO Jay Roth. Check it out here.

Starting with 200 metres of reinforced Scania fan belts, meticulously cut into 800 griffin feathers, and then sewn together by hand with nearly 5000 stitches. Resulting in something that is as much art as it is a concept piece: The Griffin Jacket.

The concept jacket is currently being auctioned off, and all the proceeds will go to benefit the international non-profit organisation ActionAid.

Watch: Gayle King and Nora O'Donnell Respond to the Charlie Rose Allegations on 'CBS This Morning'

All eyes were on this morning’s “CBS This Morning” in the wake of a Monday Washington Post story about sexual misconduct allegations against Charlie Rose.

“We’re going to begin with news affecting all of us at this broadcast and this network,” Norah O’Donnell said. “CBS News has suspended our co-host Charlie Rose over allegations of sexual misconduct.” The show’s third co-host Gayle King continued, “The Washington Post, as you have heard, published claims from eight women who all worked, or wanted to work, for his PBS program. And they described Rose making unwanted sexual advances.” King then handed off to CBS News correspondent Bianna Golodryga, who detailed the allegations and their aftermath.

Moore Blasted by Democrat in TV Ads in Alabama Senate Race

The Alabama Democrat running for U.S. Senate has run overwhelmingly more television advertising than his competitor, Roy Moore, since the Republican was accused of pursuing dates or sexual contact with teenagers.

Since Nov. 10, the day after the Washington Post first reported on allegations that have engulfed Moore’s campaign, Democrat Doug Jones has run more than eight times as many campaign ads than his opponent on broadcast TV in Alabama, according to data from Kantar Media’s CMAG, which tracks political advertising.

In a Jones ad first broadcast Monday, the Democrat has begun to use the words of conservatives against Moore. President Donald Trump’s daughter, Ivanka, is quoted as saying that there is a “special place in hell for people who prey on children,” and Attorney General Jeff Sessions, who previously held the Alabama Senate seat, is quoted as saying that he has “no reason to doubt these young women.”

Uber Concealed Cyberattack That Exposed 57 Million People's Data

Hackers stole the personal data of 57 million customers and drivers from Uber Technologies, a massive breach that the company concealed for more than a year. This week, the ride-hailing company ousted Joe Sullivan, chief security officer, and one of his deputies for their roles in keeping the hack under wraps.

Compromised data from the October 2016 attack included names, email addresses and phone numbers of 50 million Uber riders around the world, the company told Bloomberg on Tuesday. The personal information of about 7 million drivers were accessed as well, including some 600,000 U.S. driver’s license numbers. No Social Security numbers, credit-card details, trip location info or other data were taken, Uber said.

At the time of the incident, Uber was negotiating with U.S. regulators investigating separate claims of privacy violations. Uber now says it had a legal obligation to report the hack to regulators and to drivers whose license numbers were taken. Instead, the company paid hackers $100,000 to delete the data and keep the breach quiet. Uber said it believes the information was never used but declined to disclose the identities of the attackers.
