Posted in: UncategorizedComedy Director Richard Farmer Joins Big Block
Posted in: UncategorizedRichard Farmer’s knowledge of comedic storytelling is rivaled only by his knowledge of the industry. The Oklahoma native began his career as an agency producer in Los Angeles after spending time post-college living in London, Seattle and Prague, working on indie films and videos. After a few years, he went on to produce for Mindfield, a production, editorial, and animation company for commercial television and music videos.
Since stepping behind the lens, Farmer has directed a prolific amount of commercials, each injected with his unique, absurdist humor. Whether it’s carnivorous bunnies for Wendy’s, a magically appearing Fancy Bear for Free Credit Score, or creating 90’s R&B songs about iconic memes for LG V20 phones, Farmer knows just how to twist expectations to create a memorable and compelling spot no matter the client.
The recent LG spots perfectly encapsulate Richard’s innovative style and singular perspective. Shot exclusively on the LG V20 phone, Farmer took well-known memes, from “Double Rainbow” to “Damn Daniel” and “remastered” them in high quality, showcasing a mash-up of his skills across the realms of narrative, music and VFX. It’s this adaptive and comprehensive talent that has made him a regular at Cannes, The London Film Festival, the Malibu International Film Festival and the MTV Video Music Awards. And Farmer has already hit the ground running at Big Block, having just booked a job for Simon Malls.
Executive Producer Geno Imbriale is ecstatic over Farmer’s addition to Big Block, saying, “You can see his strength and passion for off-the-wall comedy in every spot he directs. His photography and music background — shooting bands and lifestyle—has only amplified his perfectly spot-on comedic timing. And because of his experience as a producer, Richard can talk the talk and interface seamlessly with clients to create the best possible vision.”
SABO places "Think Different" parody campaign outside Google HQ
Posted in: UncategorizedThe images quickly spread over Twitter as everyone is equipped with a smartphone these days, and many people stopped to take a snap.
There were also banners hanging from the street lights, which may take quite some time to be taken down. THe entire intersection around Google has posters at bus stops, on benches and these flying overhead by the street lights.
This bench billboard really hammers the message home: Goolag – search for diversity of thought somewhere else.
Sussex Police ask Tesco to tone it down with their "feminine hygiene" shelving signs
Posted in: UncategorizedWe’ve now graduated to actual police, policing terms used in display areas of Tesco supermarkets. Meet Sargeant Peter Allen, the Sussex Hate Crime Sgt & Trans Equality Advocate. He found an offensive sign at Tesco – offensive to transgender people, he claims – and he’s made sure that Tesco knows it.
.@tesco #FAIL Need to update. Especially with products 4 men on shelf. ‘Personal Hygiene’ perhaps pic.twitter.com/GNgnN2aiAi— Peter Allan (@SgtPeterAllan) August 5, 2016
Now, since brands know that the only way to diffuse anything on social media is to say they’ll “take a look at it”, which is the opposite approach than the one taken by Protein World, Tesco said exactly that to police officer Peter. A nice “thanks for the feedback” tweet-reply.
Hi Peter, sorry about this. Could you let me know which store this is at to fed back please. Thanks – Ieuan— Tesco (@Tesco) August 5, 2016
Most other people in the same thread aren’t as happy with this. Most of the ire is directed at the Sussex Police though, and not Tesco or their sign.
How many Tampons do you get through per month, on average, Peter?— Stephen Kenyon-Owen (@oozelumbird) August 10, 2017
Is this some type of joke? Acid attacks, knife crime up, child grooming gangs and the police are interested in this? Get real please!— Glovered (@Yeovil070707) August 10, 2017
There’s nothing to stop men buying tampons. The fact they don’t have a fanny to shove them up ain’t Tesco’s fault.— Lord Cornelius (@LordCornelius) August 10, 2017
Please tell me this a parody account?— Zen² (@MemeticsMatter) August 10, 2017
Last time I checked, tampons were used for feminine hygiene, not male. Haven’t you got anything better to do with taxpayers money?— Alan Ahern (@alanahern54) August 10, 2017
have you seriously got nothing better to do? How much is this costing us?— ??? ?????? (@sueveneer) August 12, 2017
BREAKING: man offended by tampons!— Diana Death (@TheeDianaDeath) August 10, 2017
Why do feminine hygiene products need to be gender neutral when ONLY WOMEN HAVE NEED OF THEM???Tesco, please ignore this idiocy …— Jon P Farmer (@jpfotouk) August 10, 2017
This may have been a bigger PR blunder for the Sussex Police than for Tesco.

PartnersGlobal: Bad [W]rap
Posted in: Uncategorized
In a time when hatred outweighs unity, how do you strip the headwrap of its bad rap?
Twitter has served as a platform for those who oppose muslims, as well as those who support them, so PartnersGlobal decided to stop the hate speech by injecting themselves at the heart of it, in hopes of moving the conversation from hate to encouragement.
We created a video of muslim women showing that, under their headwraps, they are just people. Anytime someone tweets the hashtags #WrapGrab, #MuslimBan, #LoveBeforeFlags or #antimuslim, they will be given the option to include this video with their tweet. Those who are pro-muslim will be given another tool to spread their message of love and tolerance. Those who are anti-muslim will be able to put names and faces to the people who they vilify and see that under their headwraps these women are no different from their mothers, daughters, sisters and wives.
