Cadence Paris Adds Director Saam Farahmand

Paris and New York-based production company Cadence Films is pleased to announce that award-winning London-based filmmaker Saam Farahmand has joined the team of top-level directors represented by Cadence Films.

Farahmand comes to the Cadence Paris roster with a deep resume and reputation for innovation, with The Guardian deeming him “one of the most talented music video directors of his generation.” After graduating with a degree in fine arts from Goldsmiths, Farahmand began helming videos for everyone from Soulwax, The Klaxons, Tom Vek, and The xx. His transition into the commercial realm was seamless, with Farahmand soon collaborating with clients such as Absolut Vodka, Alexander McQueen, Apple, Audi, and Channel 4, to name a few.

Whether he’s working with bands or brands, Farahmand is known to bring an experiential aspect to his work. Teaming up with Absolut and Jamie xx, he staged a city-wide live interactive dance experience. For another collaboration with The xx, Farahmand designed a sculptural interpretation of the band’s self-titled debut album in London, where participants could move through the physical representation of the music and alter how they heard the audio. Farahmand’s filmic explorations of contemporary culture have been viewed on a global scale, including his thought-provoking ode to female body hair commissioned by NOWNESS to kick off their #DefineBeauty film series.

The alliance between Farahmand and Cadence Paris proves to be a perfect match-up in terms of skillsets and taste. The creative output of Cadence Films is similarly vast, varied, and global in its reach, with high-profile projects ranging from cult classic features, to productions for music icons like Beyoncé, David Bowie, and Kanye West, to international campaigns for brands including Dior, HTC, Nike, Volkswagen and adidas.

Founded by Neil Cooper in 2011, Cadence encompasses a deep bench of directors with unmistakable individual styles, a collection of multi-hyphenate storytellers who bring their own unique perspective and edge to every project.

Samsung Gaming Marathon

DesiCreative
DesiCreative – Indian Advertising Creative Blog and Community (beta 1.4)

If you’ve ever participated in a marathon, you’ll know that at every marathon event they use the chest chip and stepping pad combo as a system for measuring a runner’s results. So this year, to capitalize on the massive participation in the Samsung Marathon – Israel’s largest running event – we decided to HACK THE RUN FOR GOOD by turning the marathon course into a gaming track and the runners into players.

How? By adding more stepping pads along the running course and turning them into game coin collection points.

Every time a runner steps on one of the pads, he collects a coin which is registered in real time via his chest number chip, added to our database and turned into real money. At the end of the marathon, the sum accumulated is then donated on behalf of the runner to the charity of his choice.

From our preliminary data, participation numbers are set to hit a new record high with 40,000 runners attending from all over the world (from over 40 different countries) so we’re talking about lots of money that will be making a difference for many people. Now that’s worth running for!

Amazon Prime Suits Up as NFL's New 'Thursday Night Football' Streaming Partner

The NFL is huddling up with a new live-streaming partner in Amazon, which has agreed to fork over $50 million to simulcast the 10 fall “Thursday Night Football” games broadcast by CBS and NBC.

Per terms of its one-year deal, the online retailer-cum-programmer will offer the Thursday night NFL games at no additional charge to subscribers of its Amazon Prime service, which boasts a membership of some 65 million U.S. consumers. That’s on an equal footing with the number of active stateside users of Twitter, which last fall became the NFL’s inaugural full-season live-streaming partner.

Amazon, which beat out the likes of Facebook and Google’s YouTube for the rights to carry the Thursday night games, will pay five times what Twitter invested a year ago for what is effectively the same package. Amazon will have the option to sell a smattering of ad inventory in each game, and it’s expected that a portion of those available slots will be used to promote homegrown shows such as “Sneaky Pete,” “Goliath” and “All or Nothing,” a doc series produced by NFL Films.

KFC: Double Stacker

Integrated
KFC

A new Double Stacker sandwich campaign for KFC, which began during the France-Spain football match, centers on the idea that by just looking at 2 filet chicken sandwiches, you’ll start musing about what else you would double if you had the chance. #JeDédoublerais (I would double).

Fans were also invited to log on to Twitter, where they found short videos of football star players Giroud and Kurzawa encouraging them to tweet about their double fantasies. Those with the most creative ideas can be seen below.
