Can Premium Milk Be a Cash Cow For Coca-Cola?


From craft beer to fancy sodas, high-end beverages are growing in popularity. But are drinkers ready to swallow the idea of premium milk?

A joint venture between Coca-Cola Co. and a dairy co-op is testing that proposition with a new ad national campaign expected to break today for Fairlife, an upscale milk brand that began a national rollout in early February.

The product uses a patented cold-filtered system that the brand says produces a milk that is lactose-free and contains 50% more protein, 30% more calcium and half the sugar of regular milk. It also costs about twice as much as regular milk, according to published reports.

Nielsen Ads Say 'Let's Count the Binge-Watchers, the Cord-Cutters'


Nielsen is introducing what it says is its first marketing campaign in five years to start a conversation about the need for better media measurement. TV networks hardly need the encouragement — many executives already regularly complain about Nielsen’s failure to track viewers on internet-connected devices or outside the home — but Nielsen’s “Total It Up” video tries to put everyone on the same side:

Let’s count the binge-watchers; the cord-cutters; the on-the-go multi-taskers …. Let’s evolve the ratings to include every view on every screen.

Nielsen has made strides in catching up with the way viewers consume content, adding certain capabilities to measure mobile devices and streaming video services, but there are plenty of caveats that keep real totals elusive.

Why are you an Illustrator?
I love drawing my surroundings, and I think only through images I can express these experiences and impressions. Considering illustration as a medium, I find it easy for me to integrate a story, mood, atmosphere, people, settings etc while trying to communicate an experience.


?Did you attend school for fine art or design?
Yes, I graduated with BFA in Applied art from college of fine arts Trivandrum, and then I pursued an MA in Illustration from University For The Creative Arts Farnham, UK.

?You have a distinct style of illustration. How long did it take you to develop your style?
Thank you, I think having an individual style is very important also style is something that evolves gradually and not overnight. I believe when some one given more importance to his individuality rather than craft, that is when personal style start evolving. If an illustrator thinks that, style is something happens overnight, then may be they are imitating some one else style.

Were there any particular role models for you when you grew up?
Though I was really interested in seeing Raja Ravi Varma’s realistic paintings when I grew up, I really don’t know if I had a role model of that sort.

Who was the most influential personality on your career in Illustrations?
Christoph Niemann is one of my ever time influential personality in illustrations. I really like the hybriding methods he is using in his conceptual illustrations. His illustrations are really communicative and every illustration has a solid concept. The humor in his illustrations towards different issues amazes me.

What made you decide to become a freelance illustrator? When did you start freelancing? Do you illustrate for advertising?
Since my college days I have been freelancing and handled many client. And the same has been continued till date. Though I have worked for advertising projects, It happened that I collaborated more with publishers and design studios.

Are many advertising agencies getting illustrations made these days? Do you work more with agencies or publishers?
Yes, there is lot of opportunity for illustrators to collaborate with advertising agencies. But I work mainly with publishers because of the narrative aspects of the content that the publishers provide.
Was there any time when you wanted to quit Illustrations?
Not at all!

Have you considered turning your illustrations into toys?
So far I haven’t explored anything of that sort, however I have been planning for developing series of plaster based 3D reliefs and prints.

Any other Indian Illustrators who you admire?
Yes. Artist Namboothiri, he has a very unique style in identifying and expressing his subject. I really like the portrayal of daily life and the quest for investigating social identity in his drawings.
?Do you have any favorite fellow illustrators or resources relating to your fields?
I do have couple of favorite fellow illustrators. Priya Sebastian is one among them, and I like her work for the uniqueness, the atmosphere in which each illustration is made.

Communication art, Creative Review, AOI illustration etc are some of the good resources that help me updating myself with the contemporary illustration practice.

You have such a wide experience as a top working professional. What advice do you have for aspiring creative professionals? Would you advise them to take on Illustration as a career option? Is it paying well enough?
If you are willing to follow your heart for the love of image making, then all the hard work will pay off at the end. Also it is important to understand the advantage of an illustrator being a multi-disciplinary collaborator rather than sitting at home and working alone.
?What’s your dream project?
Publishing a children’s book. I am in search of good children’s book writers who interested in collaborating.

Mac.

?Who would you like to take out for dinner?
Anyone from my friend circle.
