Site Joker.org faz streaming de torrents em desktop ou tablet

Da mesma geração do Popcorn Time, o site Joker.org surge para facilitar o consumo de arquivos de mídia que circulam em sites de torrent. Ao invés de fazer download do arquivo do torrent e dar play, é possível fazer o streaming do conteúdo diretamente no seu desktop, tablet ou dispositivo móvel, contando apenas com um Wi-Fi ou conexão potente.

Apesar da ideia de fazer streaming ser tentadora para quem quer consumir conteúdo pirateado sem ser punido por isso, já que não haveria arquivos locais da mídia ilegal, o TorrentFreak lembra que o streaming precisa cachear o conteúdo para melhorar a qualidade da exibição (evitando aquelas incômodas travadas) e isso seria suficiente para iniciar um processo judicial contra o Joker.

Considerando torrents legais, de conteúdo legitimamente distribuído nesse formato, o Joker não é problema algum, muito pelo contrário. Ele apresenta uma interface simples o suficiente para que qualquer pessoa consiga assistir a vídeos apenas oferecendo o link magnet do torrent em questão. Mas, como a gente bem sabe, ele será majoritariamente usado para streaming de conteúdo pirata, portanto tem seus dias tão contados quanto o Popcorn Time.

Tortura por cordas, afogamento, choques elétricos…. É estranho pensar como a crueldade pode ser criativa, e quantos instrumentos podem ser usados para machucar alguém. O som da dor causada por eles, entretanto, dificilmente chegam aos nossos ouvidos.

É aí que entra Sons da Tortura,  projeto desenvolvido pela Leo Burnett de Lisboa para a Anistia Internacional que tem por objetivo amplificar a voz de vítimas de tortura e maus-tratos ao redor do mundo e divulgar a causa Stop Torture.

Segundo Steve Colmar, diretor de criação da Leo Burnett, Sons da Tortura é um instrumento de percussão que foi construído a partir de ferramentas comumente utilizadas para a tortura em diversos países. A bateria foi criada em parceira com diversos músicos e artistas, entre eles Hélio Morais, baterista de duas bandas portuguesas, Paus e Linda Martini.

“Partimos do insight que o sofrimento destas vítimas não chega aos ouvidos de todos. Então decidimos construir algo para amplificar o som e tornar mais alto este pedido de socorro”, conta.

Sons da Tortura está sendo levado a diversas cidades portuguesas para divulgar a causa, que também conta com um site onde é possível ouvir o som de cada instrumento, além de assinar a petição da causa.

That’s the finding of ShareThis, a California company that tracks sharing behavior online. It also found — not surprisingly — that millennials dominate political conversations on social media.

Political Partisans Agree on One Thing: They Like Amazon


Democrats and Republicans might not agree on much, especially in a particularly bitter midterm election cycle. But a 2014 YouGov BrandIndex ranking of favorite brands finds some agreement among political partisans. Amazon, for one, comes in No. 1 among Democrats and Independents and No. 2 among Republicans.

Craftsman, Johnson & Johnson, Clorox and Dawn were the four other brands that landed in the Top 10 lists of people of all political stripes. Samsung made its debut; Home Depot fell off.

YouGov interviewed 600,000 people concerning a portfolio of 1,200 brands. The margin of error, according to YouGov, is +/- 2%. The BrandIndex’s Index score ranges from 100 to -100 and are compiled by subtracting negative feedback from positive. A zero score means equal positive and negative feedback.
