Watch This Swordsman Play A Real-Life Game of Fruit Ninja
Posted in: UncategorizedSo PillsburyToaster Strudel teamed up with Guinness Book of World Records-holding swordsman Isao Machii for a crazy stunt in Los Angeles. The brand gathered a crowd and let them toss all kinds of fruit — and Toaster Strudel — at him and he deftly sliced each one in half in mid-air.
The brand has also partnered with Halfbrick, makers of the popular Fruit Ninja app.Beginning August 7, Fruit Ninja players noticed Toaster Strudel through sponsored in-app challenges and videos with flying fruit that will play after each completed mission. Players will also be rewarded with Toaster Strudel coupons and other Fruit Ninja incentives.
Which is cool and all if you like to play Fruit Ninja but we much prefer the real thing.
To Hook Young People, Comcast Bundles Pay TV With Campus Housing
Posted in: UncategorizedComcast is offering students at seven colleges live TV and video on-demand on their smartphones, tablets and computers as part of on-campus housing, all part of a bid to keep young people from learning to live without cable.
Xfinity On Campus, baked into students’ room and board, will start this term at Bridgewater College, Drexel University, Emerson College, Lasell College and the University of Delaware, Comcast said today in a statement. The Massachusetts Institute of Technology and University of New Hampshire will run trials.
The service will include more than 80 channels, including every major broadcast network in those markets and cable channels such as AMC, Bravo, Comedy Central, ESPN, FX and MTV. Students will get both live and on-demand access.

Posted in: UncategorizedShoes By Jews Launches Platform Shoes With Dick Joke
Posted in: UncategorizedApparently based on findings from OK Cupid which revealed guys who are taller get more dates and hookups, a group of enterprising, but short, Jewish guys decided to launch ShoesByJews, a line of footwear that adds 2-3 inches to ones height with stylish shoes that don’t look like platform shoes.
To promote the launch, they’ve released a video on YouTube which fully leverages the notion (myth?) that a bigger dick will get a guy more sex. Except in the video they’re talking about how taller guys score with more women.
Of course, the whole thing has spawned a bitch-fest over at Hacker News where people are debating whether this is a good thing or it’s yet another example of people’s insecurities and preconceived notions.
But, as many have pointed out, platform shoes are like padded bras. Once you get down to business and the clothes come off, every physical truism is laid bare.
Should HuffPo Also Crowdfund Its 'Nip Slip' Coverage?
Posted in: UncategorizedLast night The Huffington Post sent out a press release with the highfalutin title “The Huffington Post Is Not Leaving Ferguson.” It contained the text of a HuffingtonPost.com article by Ryan Grim, HuffPo’s Washington bureau chief, that begins:
“What happens in Ferguson and the St. Louis metro area the day after everybody leaves? It’s a question on the minds of nearly every resident, who know the camera crews will eventually fold up their sticks and pack up their vans …. We plan to be there as it all unfolds. For The Huffington Post, this’ll involve a first-of-its-kind collaboration with readers, the local community and the Beacon Reader to create what we’re calling the Ferguson Fellowship.”
Sounds good, right? Then there’s the next sentence:

T-Mobile Offers Users Data, Cash Bounties for Sprint Subscribers
Posted in: UncategorizedT-Mobile is enlisting its own customers to recruit new users, taking special aim at Sprint Corp. as price skirmishes heat up in the U.S. wireless market.
Starting next week, T-Mobile’s refer-a-friend campaign will reward its own subscribers and the friends recruited from other carriers with one year of unlimited data, the company said today. The wireless provider will also give its customers a $25 bonus to spend at T-Mobile for each referral, according to the company’s website.
The offer — introduced with a statement entitled “T-Mobile Urges Its Customers to Rescue Beleaguered Sprint Customers” — is aimed primarily at Sprint, but also applies to customers recruited from Verizon Communications and AT&T.
This Political Campaign Ad Features A Horse With A Large Erection
Posted in: UncategorizedThere’s a campaign ad for Republican congressional candidate Gary Kiehne, the guy who once said 99% of mass shooting are committed by Democrats, in which Garry is accompanied in the background by a horse with a large erection. Or, as one commenter pointed out, the horse is taking a leak and that’s what happens when horses take a leak.
Either way, it’s an oversight that, yea, should not have happened. But we are so glad it did because we get to use the word “erection” in another story. Yes, we are easily amused.

Thinking About Snapchat Advertising? Snap Out of It
Posted in: UncategorizedMcDonalds’s, Taco Bell and even GE are just a few of the brands rushing to Snapchat in an attempt to stake their claim on 10 seconds of millennial mindshare. And Snapchat is now reportedly working on a service called Snapchat Discovery that will make it easier to get ads in front of Snapchat users.
But if you are a brand marketer thinking, “I’d better get on this Snapchat train before it leaves the station,” please slow down a second and make sure you know what you’re getting into. With news of Snapchat’s $10 billion valuation, it’s easy to come down with a case of “Shiny Object Syndrome.” But it’s important to have a clear picture of where you’re putting your brand — after all, there’s a reason brands pay a premium to be adjacent to quality content. You are the company you keep.
When Snapchat came onto the scene, it was perceived as little more than a tool for sexting. The reality is that it’s a much more robust platform that’s used for all kinds of visual communication. The content problem, however, is the other advertisers you will be associating your brand with.

LGBT Marketing Comes to China
Posted in: UncategorizedA cheerful promotional cartoon from a major Chinese travel agency shows two women sharing one hotel bed and two men tucked into another. “Take your gay best friend to visit Hong Kong,” it proclaims, offering $80 off travel packages.
The promotion, showing this week on the Shanghai website of the travel agency Spring Tour, isn’t slick or high-profile. But it’s noteworthy because there are few portrayals of gays and lesbians in ads in China, though tolerance is increasing.
“There have been very few brands that have reached out in China, and the first that do are going to gain a lot of, not just kudos, but also loyalty from this community,” said Steven Paul Bielinski, who founded Shanghai LGBT Professionals to foster dialogue and cooperation with businesses on issues related to the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender community. “And that’s going to translate to a lot of business for these brands.”
