Joinery Launches in L.A.. Pleix Joins Skunk, Golden Opens in Venice and More


Gerard Cantor, former EP at Believe Media, film producer Richard Gladstein and directors Paul and Leslie Dektor have teamed up to launch new production company Joinery, based in Los Angeles.

Mr. Cantor, who was at Believe Media for 13 years, will serve as managing director. Mr. Gladstein has produced feature films such as “Pulp Fiction,” “Cider House Rules,” “The Bourne Identity” and “Finding Neverland” and will take on the role as executive producer of longform. Veteran director Leslie Dektor will be a partner in the firm.

Founding director Paul Dektor will be joined on the roster by Rob Feng, Lasse Hallstrom, David Masters, Only Child, Bo Platt, film/motion design studio Weareflink and video artists Objective. The Joinery team will also be home to Digital Producers Peter Mertz and Alvaro Chacon. Mr. Mertz previously worked as Director of Digital at TBWA/Media Arts Lab, Zambezi and Rock, Paper, Scissors, while Mr. Chacon also worked at TBWA/MAL and Zambezi, as senior digital producer.
