People On The Move: Kathy Delaney Named Chief Creative Officer, Saatchi & Saatchi Wellness


Kathy Delaney has been named chief creative officer of Saatchi & Saatchi Wellness. In her new role, Ms. Delaney will lead the agency’s creative campaigns. From 2007 to 2011, Ms. Delaney served as global chief creative officer and president of Nitro, where she helped build business globally, culminating in its sale to global digital consultancy Sapient, and successfully formed SapientNitro, a global digital and brand-specialist network. Most recently, Ms. Delaney headed her own consultancy and launched the SK Energy Shots brand in partnership with brand incubator Pure Growth Partners. Her success on the brand’s integrated national marketing and advertising campaign resulted in SK Energy’s nationwide distribution at GNC, CVS, Rite-Aid and Duane Reade.

Beth Collins Ellard has joined the Ad Council as executive vice president, media. In her new role, Ms. Ellard will work to secure donated media support for the organization’s national public-service-advertising campaigns, creating innovative partnerships with traditional, digital and emerging media as well as corporate sponsors. Prior to joining the Ad Council, Ellard was EVP and general manager of DailyCandy, a women’s lifestyle digital property owned by NBCUniversal. Ms. Ellard has worked at several top media companies including Hearst, Disney, and Time Inc. During her first three years at DailyCandy, Ms. Ellard led the brand’s transformation from an industry-leading email newsletter into a thriving digital media property. She launched and scaled its web, social-media, mobile, and e-commerce platforms, tripling the audience to more than 6 million users.

Greg Smith has been appointed director of shopper marketing by Partners & Napier, a Project: WorldWide agency. The appointment of Mr. Smith, who previously served as director of shopper marketing at Smith Brothers agency in Pittsburgh, further enhances the agency’s core service offering. Mr. Smith specializes in the retail-brand marketing of consumer-package goods, as well as consumer-promotion strategy, retail sell-in and execution. Most recently, at Smith Brothers Agency, Mr. Smith led the promotional strategy and integration of shopper marketing into digital initiatives for clients such as Nestle’s Skinny Cow, Edy’s/Dreyer’s Fruit Bars, and Stouffer’s and Heinz brands like Ore-Ida and Bagel Bites. Mr. Smith held a similar role at Acosta Marketing Group, a specialized shopper-marketing agency, where he led teams in creating account-specific strategies for clients including Clorox, Georgia-Pacific, Schwan’s, and Kellogg’s, managing marketing budgets of more than $20 million.
