van Santen Netwerk: Stopmotion Xmas Card

When creating an advertising concept it often starts with a piece of paper and a pencil. With a good concept the idea comes to life and the magic starts. We used just basic tools for the animation, like paper, a pencil, a sharpener, an eraser, scissors, glue and a set square. When the sails of the Dutch windmill are turned, the whole scene comes to life. All elements pop up and the message ‘I WISH YOU CREATIVE HOLIDAYS’ appears. People can send the viral to their friends and can also download all graphics to get creative themselves.

Royal London Society for the Blind (RLSB): Everybody Technology

Technology allows us to do more, experience more and achieve more. But currently the benefits aren’t universally shared. Mainstream products are too often designed without disabled users in mind.
RLSB have created the Everybody Technology initiative to raise awareness of the issue by encouraging technology developers to serve the needs of people with disability, promoting their inclusion and realising their potential. Brief: Promote the Everybody Technology initiative by creating an online film. Idea: In a single, gradual camera move back, we reveal many different people sat in chairs, changing one after another. They are men, women and children, from different cultures, backgrounds and disabilities, who all appear to be speaking the words of Professor Stephen Hawking’s call for Everybody Technology. The film featured volunteers of all abilities, including a true example of someone who has benefited from Everybody Technology. Matt Goodsell is a sufferer of cerebral palsy, yet communicates fantastically via an iPad.

SPAR Ireland: Christmas 2012

Christmas trees were put up all over Ireland by nationwide convenience store SPAR. Conveniently, the logo for SPAR is a green tree! From the beautiful Beara peninsula to bustling Middle Abbey Street, the commercial was shot over 5 days by Irish directingduo, D.A.D.D.Y and set to a cover of The Raveonette’s ‘The Christmas Song’ by Irish musicians Jape and Gemma Hayes. No trees were hurt in the filming.

Diesel: Happy Apocalypse

According to the ancient Mayan calendar, December 21st 2012 marks the day the Earth will be destroyed and all human life will cease to exist forevermore. So, if the rumour is true and 21-12-2012 really is the day it all ends, surely there’s only one thing to do?

The Fondation Abbé Pierre: The Slums

To raise public awareness of this harsh reality and its magnitude, BDDP Unlimited built a comprehensive campaign including a 30-second film, billboards and a website dedicated to fundraising for this very worthy cause. To emphasize the fact that “a hovel is the antithesis of a home” – the campaign’s central theme, the film tells a story about children’s prejudices and the two billboards twist common children’s expressions. The poignant film was directed by the young Valérie Pirson, and the thought-provoking billboard photos were taken by Laurent Chehere. The fundraising campaign, managed by the Excel agency, was launched on Wednesday, 28 November on the non-aux-taudis.fr website. This interactive site encourages and enables donors to see how their support actually helps renovate a hovel.

Diesel: The Magic of Christmas

A study commissioned by Diesel to a reputable Finnish research centre revealed, “90% of adults between 18 and 75 are no longer able to perceive and live the true Magic of Christmas”. When did you last want something so much that you were electrified with joy? To relive the real feeling of Christmas, Diesel and SuperHeroes Amsterdam have hypnotised customers to believe they are 5 years old on Christmas morning. The results are collected in a film trilogy named “The Magic of Christmas”. Is it real? You bet it is. The three episodes are followed by a special behind-the-scenes, called ‘Behind the Dreams.”
