“The story was so relatable. Pair that with the opportunity to work with M&M’s and it was the right fit to take on my first Super Bowl ad,” Applegate said in a statement.

The spot from BBDO New York is meant to set the scene for the upcoming Super Bowl ad, M&M’s said. M&M’s plans to run its full 30-second spot during the first commercial break after kickoff. Last year, its Super Bowl spot starred Danny DeVito.
