Shwapno: USAID-SHWAPNO Ghuddirdanga Project

For hundred of years, women of Ghuddirdanga, a remote village situated in Satkhira District- Bangladesh, had been fighting against the “Mohajons” (intermediaries) for the right price of their produced goods. Moreover, they were struggling to get the expected outcome compared to their efforts due to the lack of proper knowledge regarding modern farming methods. A local entrepreneur came forward to solve the problems of this women and started collecting dairy products from these women for his dairy shop at right price. To strengthen this initiative, Shwapno, the largest retail chain of Bangladesh, has undertaken a great project with the help of USAID where an expert trains these Ghuddirdanga’s women how to farm, milk, preserve, transport and sell in a hygienic and appropriate method. Because of this project, the women now know the details of modern farming and their overall milk production been increased significantly. This collaboration does not end here, Shwapno has decided to distribute dairy products, made from the raw milk provided by Ghuddirdanga, through its numerous outlets under the “SHUDDHO” brand. Finally the incredible women of this locality rightfully received what they deserved and furthermore.

However, they’ve been able to get around these rules and restrictions by partnering with pro-gun influencers and having them promote firearms to their followers. These influencers are able to do something that the firearm industry can’t do on their own: glamorize guns on social media to drive sales. Change the Ref, in partnership with Alma, is trying to bring attention to who is actually behind these Instagram posts and start a conversation about the need for stricter regulations on social media for firearm manufacturers. To do this, Change the Ref is reposting pictures where these influencers are promoting guns. But instead of tagging the pro-gun sponsor in the post, Instagram accounts honoring the tragedies caused by guns are tagged instead. By exposing “Bad Influencers,” Change the Ref hopes make more people aware of the shady tactics gun companies are using to bypass regulations and spread their dark influence.

The V8 engine roars like heavy metal guitars, and, since its launch, back in 1964, all of its six generations have been riding alongside this music style. The two of them ride so close that some versions of the Mustang are honored on song lyrics, video clips and even became a desired object for rockstars. Now, it’s Ford’s time to honor this connection with an AR camera app that shows how each model relates to rock ‘n’ roll. The app recognizes each design and embeds the car to a poster that represents its generation and artistic style (64/73, 74/78, 79/93, 94/04, 05/14, 15/now -). After that, a Spotify playlist made with hits from that time gets open, including songs from bands such as The Monkees, Jimi Hendrix, Kiss, Black Sabbath, Queen, and Iron Maiden. At the same time, the posters for each generation were ready to be shared on Instagram Stories. Those who did it were surprised at home with a print version that also led to the playlists. A fair tribute from a motor that roar so high as rock n roll.
