With the rise of access to information came the rise of disinformation. What you may not know is most of this disinformation came from one place: Velez, Macedonia. They’ve spread hundreds of lies affected a national election, manipulated thousands of people. And no one has done anything to stop them… So we The Times, the only newspaper that can be quoted in the court of law, decided to take matters into our own hands: By suing Velez. We brought them to court, citing The Defamation Act 2013. As the only newspaper that can be quoted in the court, we believe it is our duty to know times and more importantly, fight for it. And that means holding liars accountable.

To celebrate Highway to Hell’s 40th anniversary, ACDC took up the challenge and set-up a massive installation : a wall made of 14 Marshall speakers, able to reach more than 130db, with a power of 4200W, placed in front of a birthday cake decorated with 40 candles…that will all be blown out by the music under your very eyes.

Even if just for a laugh. That’s why we created The Gruntminator – the machine in form of the huge pig that destroys anything negative that you would not want take with you to the new 2019!

We launched a page on our website with an editor, in which you could upload a photo of the annoying object. And then receive your own custom video with Gruntminator destroying your object in the only way he knows. After that, the video could be shared with friends on social networks.

Idea 4G: Mallika Dua

The campaign is an attempt to bring alive the experience of video calling with a renowned celebrity in real time. Building on the brand’s tagline of ‘India Ka Live Network’, Idea 4G Live leveraged the power of video calls in an attempt to create awareness about common misdoings of people and encourage them to change their behaviour.

The tool allows users to interact with Mallika, and ask her questions ranging from personal trivia to the benefits of Idea 4G network and the power of live videos by simply tapping on the mic icon. Trending questions are also prompted at the bottom of the screen which the user can scroll through and ask Mallika. The innovation is done through live media banners placed on popular websites, which can be accessed through mobile phone browsers.

The experience is designed to be seamless and resemble a live video call with the user’s own face seen on the screen. This experience can last for as long as the user has questions to ask and also allows users to ‘Get Idea’ in just a few clicks.

The innovation uses Artificial Intelligence (AI) where the ad creative listens to user questions in English & Hindi and uses Machine Learning (ML) to analyse all the questions asked by previous users and increase accuracy of the responses. For example, if a user asks a question in Hinglish, the AI detects that it contains English and Hindi. Next, the ML helps accurately assign a relevant answer to that question.
