Quit Hogging Our TV: Nickelodeon Introduces Noggin Mobile-Video Service for Kids

Nickelodeon introduced Noggin, a streaming video subscription service aimed at preschoolers, at its upfront pitch to ad buyers Wednesday afternoon, handing consumers yet another way to get high-quality video without a cable or satellite bill. Noggin was previously its own cable channel, but rebranded to Nick Jr. In 2009.

The service will cost $5.99 per month and will be available for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch starting March 5. It will feature on-demand long- and short-form educational series and preschool music videos, all without ads.

Initial programming will include “Blues Clues,” “Franklin and Friends” and “Little Bear,” among others.

The Street Art of Bus Stop

Chrysler to Review Its Digital Agency Business

Automotive giant Chrysler has begun a digital agency review, according to people familiar with the matter.

Chrysler in May 2010 named Sapient Corp.’s SapientNitro its digital agency of record, overseeing interactive duties for Chrysler, Dodge, Ram Truck and Jeep. The scope at the time included services such as interactive experiences, online advertising and site design and development, in addition to support for international websites, Chrysler corporate content and dealer initiatives.

Sapient was acquired by agency holding company Publicis Groupe earlier this month, creating a Publicis.Sapient network overseeing other Publicis digital agencies. The network will defend the business, according to people familiar with the matter.

Bogusky Sends Everyone Back to the Drawing Board

Our source got the connection between Alex Bogusky and “green” startup Spiffly wrong.

The network did happen to launch at almost exactly the same time as his new, unnamed venture; it shares his interest in sustainability; it employs at least one former CP+B strategist; it runs on some of the same money that will fund Bogusky’s new project.

But, as Bogusky just told us, he’s merely an investor in Spiffly — not a founder.

Dear @agencyspy, Spiffly has nothing to do with new agency. Although @Spiffly is a cool company. Details to come. http://t.co/0WSC2cx0xH

— Alex Bogusky (@bogusky) February 25, 2015

So, to recap: we know that the new agency will involve some sort of partnership with Fusion and that it will focus primarily on “green” clients.

Other than that, we don’t really care to guess. Maybe Bogusky is returning to advertising after all.

Tables that Defy Gravity
