“This film is an experiment, and an attempt at finding new roads to reach new audiences and raise awareness in different ways. We knew we wanted to do something genre-expanding and combine our documentarian side with our more artistic, expressionistic impulses. Desertification just clicked with us, it felt like our voice could legitimately contribute to raising awareness here, because it is in itself an abstract process, going on over years, reshaping landscapes and lives.
