Olympus Binoculars – Closer – (print) Australia

I’m not sure if JWT Sydney is telling me that the items viewed through Olympus Binoculars come a lot closer, or that Olympus Binoculars are magical animal magnets that suck the critters in. Either way, funny images.

Robert Shapiro 2.0 wants to help you out

Shapiro
It’s good to know O.J. Simpson defense attorney Robert Shapiro has kept himself busy since the trial finished up in ’95. He co-founded Legal Zoom, which provides law-related document services of some sort, but I was too distracted by “endorsers” Bill O’Reilly and Laura Ingraham to care. Shapiro, O’Reilly and Ingraham? Howard Dean will be spinning in his grave, as news of such a trio’s formation may put him there. Donat/Wald created a handful of Legal Zoom TV spots; they’re described as “heartwarming.” Shapiro is in the ads, but O.J. isn’t, despite his acting triumphs in The Towering Inferno, Hertz commercials and his own murder trial. Other Shapiro clients have included bad-boy (and drug-happy) athletes Jose Canseco and Darryl Strawberry, bad-boy (and trigger-happy) famous son Christian Brando, bad-boy (and allegedly trigger-happy) record producer Phil Spector, and ’70s porn priestess Linda Lovelace (who made lots of guys happy once upon a time). My point: Laura Ingraham’s way less annoying than Ann Coulter.

Fun Pasta Gadgets – Twirling Spaghetti Fork (GALLERY)

(TrendHunter.com) I can see this causing a whole lot of trouble at the dinner table. Twirling spaghetti is a time honored tradition and now you can do it by just pressing a button on your motorized fork. Supposedly there’s no mess. That would depend on who’s eating with you.

The Twirling Spaghetti Fork is available …

Häagen-Dazs, Goodby saving the honeybee

We didn’t expect the folks at Häagen-Dazs, of all people, to lead the charge for honeybee preservation, but they’ve employed videos (like the one above, from Goodby, Silverstein & Partners and Psyop) and a Web site, helpthehoneybees.com, that alert you to their plight. Apparently, bee pollination is necessary for the production of a lot of Haagen-Dazs’ premium ice-cream flavors, which is why they care enough to do all this, and the fruit of their efforts is a new flavor: Vanilla Honey Bee. They’re also pledging to donate money to pollination research programs. My cynical side wonders how much of their concern is heartfelt, but as far as ice cream flavors go, it’s a good thing they aren’t worried about unchecked methane buildup.
