So Apple’s out with a series of new iPad ads that aim to share what people like to do with their iPads. Conan O’Brien decided to cu through the slutter and create an ad that’s a bit more honest in its approach. The results are predictable. And very likely a far more truthful representation of product usage.

– To raise awareness of the 13th SriLankan Airlines Golf Classic in Colombo (which had been on a two year hiatus), Grant McCann developed stickers that made people’s car windows look like they had been shattered.
– The Cassies, Canada’s version of the Effies, is being promoted with three videos that poke fun at just how much regular people couldn’t care less about awards shows. (One, Two, Three)
Remember thew Dollar Shave Club? If not, have look. Know what we;re talking about now? Good. Now have a look at eXelate’s Dollar Data CLub, a nifty knock off that touts the company big data solutions for online advertisers. It’s witty enough and pokes fun at all the usual suspects.
As we get closer and closer to the September 12 launch of the iPhone 5 and fanboy fanaticism runs amok, the rumors regarding the new phone’s features have reached fever pitch. Aatma Studios, which routinely releases predictions for yet to be released Apple products is out with very Jerry Bruckheimer-ish movie trailer-style video that celebrates some of the expected (and only dreamed for) features everyone hopes to see on September 12.
This one is worth watching full screen with the volume turned way up.
On the heels of the Todd Akin legitimate rape ad gaffe, a parody from Laura Napoli and Joel Silberman has taken YouTube and, well, the entire internet, by storm. The hilarious 1:30 lambastes the notion of legitimate rape in a brilliantly tongue and cheek fashion. The video’s producers have also launched a Facebook page.
From our current favorite TV show, Breaking Bad, comes this Mentos parody that has fun with the scene in which Walter buys new cars for himself and his son, Walter Jr.
The scene, of course, lends itself perfectly the oddity of previous Mentos work.
Australian Designer Chris Morgan, who thought Blackberry’s recent “Be Bold” repositioning was hilarious, decided to take things a bit further. Morgan has created OldBerry and given it the tagline, “Be Old.”
Throughout the site, he’s taken Blackberry messaging and twisted it on its head telling company to “Don’t Just Think. Retire” and “Wake Up Later.”
Funny stuff. And, perhaps, foretelling of what is likely to actually happen to the Blackberry brand.
Most certainly somewhat NSFW, this month old Combusting Herpes spoof of Google’s recent release of Google Glass is hilarious and has fun with the product’s “progressive pretentiousness.”
It was funny the first time. It was mildly amusing the second time. It began to grate the third time. The fourth, well, it’s like being forced to watch Rebecca Black’s Friday over and over again with toothpicks holding your eyelids open.
Remember Google Chrome: Coffee, the video Google created that showed how a guy used Google to get an old girlfriend to have coffee with him? Ever wonder what Jen’s response was to Mark’s persistance? Well, now we know.
Feeling they no longer get our due respect, last night Conan O’brien highlighted commercials from Yoplait, Mutual of Omaha, Kraft Milkbites and…um…shoplifting.
We’re pretty sure Coke isn’t going to like this.
