Alcohol Ban on Thailand Gift Baskets

Thailand Gift BasketsIf you happen to be wondering why some gift packs in Thailand do not contain any alcoholic beverages this coming New Year, don’t be surprised. Well it looks like Thais are trying to look over their people for the coming New Year by starting it right and keeping their alcohol reliance in check. You just never know when people may get more of a good thing and lead to possible intoxication and accidents if they are not careful.

All over the world we have read of bans on alcohol advertising but it seems that Thais are getting away with some. So to really show establishments and vendors they are dead serious, fines and penalties have been set out which should really shake them up and think twice about placing alcoholic items in New Year gift baskets.

“You will face a fine and imprisonment if the ministry finds you have put liquor products in gift baskets for sale during this New Year festivities,”

New Year’s Eve around the World

I’ve been kind of M-I-A around here due to vacational issues, so I haven’t been able to greet evryone properly for the New Year that just went by.

That’s why in an apologie-like kind of way I want to leave with these few visual testiomonies of the celebrations for New Year 2008.

First is a compilation made by TrendHunter consisting of 8 videos of the festivities in such diverse locations as Dubai, New York, Hong Kong and Sydney.

The second is a more curious one. A series of 360 degrees panoramic views of different events. Among others you’ll find images of Copa Cabanna, London, Taipei and Rio de Janeiro, just to mention a few.

I sincerely hope this year is full of success for everyone and brings many learnings and new experiences.

A big hug for everyone swinging by this website.
