There's No Wrong Way to Ride a Harley in New 'Roll Your Own' Campaign

Harley-Davidson has always celebrated the individuality of the rider, and the motorcycle brand cranks that up in new ads from agency Wolfes LLC with theme “Roll Your Own.” And the work tries to break the stereotype of who rides Harleys and how they ride them.

The campaign debuts Wedneday with a series of 30- and 60-second broadcast ads, print ads, online advertising and social content. The ads will air during the NCAA men’s basketball tournament, as well as on theCHIVE.com and Heavy.com.

There’s a lot of text going on in both the print and broadcast work, with Twitter handles, brief and sometimes cryptic headlines, the #RollYourOwn hashtag and the DarkCustom.com URL.

“The new creative is about each rider defining their independence and attitude, whether kicking up dirt on the track or sliding through the curves on ice,” says Dino Bernacchi, U.S. marketing director at Harley-Davidson.

Harley-Davidson Revs Up the Holidays With ‘Silent Night’ Spot

Anyone who has lived next door to a motorcycle owner knows that "Harley-Davidson" and "sleep in heavenly peace" rarely go together. But this special holiday video for the brand creates a clever exception.

In a clip called "The Sound of the Festive Season," U.K. agency Big Communications uses a Harley to play the notes of "Silent Night." The agency tells AdFreak that the entire idea was created, sold and executed in just 72 hours.

Our Night apresenta linha 2014 da Harley-Davidson

Indian Motorcycle Punks Harley-Davidson in Fun, Sneaky Ad

Iconic motorcycle brand Harley-Davidson is taken down a notch in this fun, simple new spot for Indian Motorcycle, which takes a hard left three-quarters of the way through. Great use of Willie Nelson by Minneapolis agency Colle+McVoy, for whom it must have been fun taking some lighthearted shots at a brand famously advertised for three decades by crosstown shop Carmichael Lynch. (Colle+McVoy tells us it has "great respect for Harley and its loyal riders" despite the mischievous approach here.) A 30-second version of the ad will air on TV next week, setting the stage for the worldwide reveal of the 2014 Indian Chief at the 2013 Sturgis Motorcycle Rally the week of Aug. 5. Credits below.

Harley-Davidson no Chatroulette

Harley Chatroulette

La première autour de l’univers musical : “When you speed up you’ll start listening to it” sur des photographies d’André Paiva.
