Game of Agencies Imagines What Game of Thrones Characters Would Do at an Agency

Indian digital agency Chimp&z has figured out who each Game of Thrones character would be if they were advertising professionals. As a bonus, they even imagined who the clients are. With perfectly selected quotes and adorable vector graphics, they make the best case I’ve seen for a Mad Men GOT crossover series. I mean, I’d watch it.

Dumb Ways to Die, Game of Thrones Edition, Chronicles Show's Notable Demises Thus Far

“Dumb Ways to Die” could be the theme song of Game of Thrones. And now this parody, from Egor Zhgun, brings them together in celebration of the various gory, untimely deaths through the show’s first four seasons. Spoilers, obviously.

The HBO show’s fifth season premiered Sunday.

Chrysler Goes Full Game of Thrones in This Ad Voiced by Peter Dinklage

Your life might not be quite like Game of Thrones, but you can still feel like a boss power broker if you drive a Chrysler, says a new ad from the automaker.

“Kings and Queens of America,” voiced by actor Peter Dinklage, who plays Tyrion Lannister on the hit HBO show, is launching just ahead of the fifth-season premier this Sunday.

The commercial, created by Wieden + Kennedy, builds on the great American myth that wealth and power are not a birthright, but rather simply there for the taking. That may be true, insofar as Justin Bieber, the Joffrey Baratheon of our time, didn’t inherit his fortune from his dad (even if both of them invaded from the North).

The 60-second spot even sports a soundtrack that references the theme music from the Game of Thrones’ opening credits.

On screen, a series of modern-day, ostensibly self-made warriors gird themselves for battle in designer glasses, high heels and blazers, and climb on their horses … or rather, into their Chrysler 300s. (Grand Maester Ron Burgundy can offer some wisdom on how many horses it would take to equal a Chrysler engine.)The faces featured include San Antonio Spurs assistant coach Becky Hammon; Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian; pro poker player Phil Ivey; photographer Kwaku Alston; and Los Angeles restaurateur Caroline Styne. They, and others, will appear in 30-second spots airing later this month.

Nobody, though, is shown viscously murdering his or her father, son-in-law, wife, brother or random stranger, for that matter.

Feast on This Kaleesi Burger Inspired by Game of Thrones

The inventive chefs over at PornBurger have created another masterpiece: the Kaleesi, a slightly misspelled homage to Game of Thrones dragon mother Daenerys Targaryen.

Known as Khaleesi to her Dothraki followers in the HBO series based on George R.R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire novels, Daenerys famously had to eat an entire raw horse heart without vomiting, which might explain why the patty on this culinary beast is made from dinosaur kale formed into a patty and rubbed in the Ethiopian spice mix berbere.

Other ingredients include shiitake mushroom "bacon," beet gratin, Red Dragon cheese, heirloom tomato and sumac aioli. It may not have any meat, but now I'm hungry enough to eat a horse. Uh, hold the heart, though.

Here Is the Game of Thrones Theme Screamed by Goats

It's always hard to find the best goat scream for the occasion (Doritos devoted a lot of effort to the task). But sometimes, with what sounds like a little bit of AutoTune and some well-chosen goats, and also what appear to be a sheep and and ibex, you can, for example, record the entire theme song to HBO's popular fantasy series Game of Thrones exclusively in goat voice.

This is the work of Marca Blanca, the Spanish-language comedy company responsible for such masterpieces as the opening sequence from Friends reworked with stock footage of high-ranking Nazis, and this amazing video of live-action footage substituted for Grand Theft Auto V gameplay. The latter is in Spanish, but it doesn't matter.

Game of Goats, however, knows no language, race or creed. It is simply there for you, on the cold nights, when the only thing that can cure your loneliness is a furry omnivorous quadruped shouting in a voice that reminds you of your fourth-grade teacher.

To all other parodies of Game of Thrones, I say: "Bah!!!"

Social Networks Are Kingdoms at War in Beautifully Crafted Game of Thrones Homage

If you love nerding out about social media almost as much as you love nerding out about Game of Thrones, then have I got the video for you.

Social media management service HootSuite created the astoundingly well-produced promotional clip below, called "A Game of Social Thrones" and crafted in the style of HBO's opening sequence for the fantasy epic, returning to TV this Sunday for its blood-drenched fourth season.

In HootSuite's version, the Seven Kingdoms are reimagined as the major social networks, with Facebook's high walls and Twitter's tower encircled by chirping fauna. Digital wonks will especially enjoy how each company's related services (YouTube for Google, Instagram for Facebook, etc.) are arranged like nearby bannermen.

Most self-promotions are works of attention-seeking desperation. This one's practically a work of art.

UPDATE: HootSuite tells us the video was largely an in-house production, with the help of an outside motion designer and composer.

Game of Thrones Becomes a 1970s Sitcom in Newest of Many Mashups

In today's installment of making new things look old, Game of Thrones gets retrofitted into a 1970s sitcom, complete with overly long exposition and freeze-frame introductions for each actor.

The idea isn't exactly revolutionary, as you can see from the previous mashups we've collected below, but there's still something entertainingly jarring about the contrast of murderous, Machiavellian schemers and an aw-shucks title treatment reminiscent of Little House on the Prairie.

Below, some of our previous favorites from the show's rapidly growing pool of parodies.

Game of Thrones as a 1990s HBO show:

Game of Thrones as a Seinfeld episode:

Game of Thrones as a zany Hollywood comedy:

The Game of Thrones intro if it took place in the video game Skyrim:

And, of course, Game of Thrones as a Little Golden Book:

Quiznos Cooks Up a Winner With ‘House of Thrones,’ but Will Funny Videos Be Enough?

The buzz is heating up for Quiznos, who has scored a hit with its House of Cards/Game of Thrones mashup called House of Thrones.

Machiavellian Congressman Frank Underwood is transported to the Seven Kingdoms, where he eliminates characters as mercilessly as George R. R. Martin himself—though he avoids killing fan favorites like Tyrion Lannister, settling instead for a merciless teasing.

Hindered by a script that is only mildly funny, the spot is held aloft by an exceptional Kevin Spacey impersonator and a spot-on concept: crossing two of today's hottest properties for maximum viral effect. They even give a few spoiler-ish nods to the fans who've read all the way up through A Dance of Dragons.

Windowseat in Los Angeles created the video, which is part of Quiznos' new content strategy for its recently launched Toasty.tv site—an interesting ploy, considering that Quiznos has just filed for bankruptcy and people are questioning whether this kind of buzz will actually sell sandwiches.

Given the target market, this kind of advertising is great for the brand. But before they invest in entertainment, they should probably focus on making subs that aren't substandard.

Here’s That Coke Ad, Now in Klingon, Dothraki and Pig Latin

If there's one good thing to come out of the recent lunatic-fringe freakout over Coca-Cola's multilingual Super Bowl ad, it's definitely this parody featuring languages that didn't quite make the original cut.

Comedy troupe Garlic Jackson, which previously (and brilliantly) mashed up "Blurred Lines" with The Cosby Show intro, have dropped a new audio track on the Coke spot, "America Is Beautiful." The parody's additions include the dulcet tones of Star Trek's Klingon and Game of Thrones' Dothraki. I'll let you hear the rest for yourself.

Here's the original ad:

The 10 Most Epic TV Show Promos of 2013

It was a mixed bag for TV generally in 2013, but not a bad year for TV promos—in fact, some of the most inventive ads on the dial (or the Web) were from folks promoting new or returning shows.

For the most part, good marketers eschewed parades of "Our show is so great!" quotes, cliffhangery snippets of dialogue and trying to unironically mimic movie trailers—and just let a few powerful images, or sometimes a single powerful image, speak to the viewer. Sometimes it was a clever in-joke, sometimes a stylish montage, sometimes the sheer chutzpah of the idea. But we picked 10 of the promos that wowed us the most from a surprisingly large pool of good creative.

From edgy cable fare like Archer to a broad network series like Community, there was plenty to love before the show even started. Tell us what you think (and what we missed) in the comments.

Medieval Land Fun-Time World

O BLR criou o Medieval Land Fun-Time World.

This Trailer Proves Game of Thrones Would Have Been an Amazing Comedy Flick

A year after it became one of the comedy highlights of the 2012 election, you'd think the Bad Lip Reading schtick would be getting old. But you'd be wrong. The series' newest clip, which recasts HBO's ultra-serious Game of Thrones as a comedy film about a medieval theme park, might just be the funniest video the BLR crew's ever made. Be sure to watch it a few times so you'll catch the subtle theme park puns edited into the original show footage. My favorite is at the 40-second mark, where a directional sign points visitors to park areas like Serfin' Safari, Charlemagnia and The Tossed Saladin. But then again, there's never anything funnier than watching Joffrey get punched in the face.

Um incrível tributo a Game of Thrones

Você curte a série? Então babe agora mesmo com o belíssimo “Where Have All The Wildlings Gone?”.

Uma salva de palmas pro Nigel 🙂
